It's been over a month since I've written anything?  Great....I can't keep up with this either!   *sigh*

It's a gorgeous morning, and for the most part, this Saturday is without major obligations.  That is, if you don't count errands, cleaning and schoolwork.  Still...I do love Saturdays!  I'm just going to leave several pictures for now, but promise to include more after the Homecoming dance tonight.  Have a good day!

I'll add more pictures tomorrow.  I'm off to enjoy the day (and hopefully be more productive!).

First day of school for both of my babies - for the last time...

Last year, she was about an inch or so taller than him.  What a different a year makes!

    Cute, aren't they?

Okay - where do the days go?  Oh, wait, I know.  They are the blur I've noticed on the edges of my vision lately....

I love football.  Truly I do.  It's a good thing, because we have three games on the horizon this upcoming week, and the high school has a bye week, so one of the games isn't even a drill team event.  I've got a son that's gunning for the quarterback on Tuesday, a dear friend whose son is a main part of a local state championship team (which plays a rare Saturday game, so we get to go watch, even though it's an away game!) and the high school that I work at has a game on Friday while we have a night off.  It's my only opportunity to watch them, so we'll probably go.  And today, in between chores around the house, I'm keeping an eye on several college games.  Controversial as it is, though, I do NOT like professional football, so at least my Sunday afternoons are free!

There goes the recycling truck, rumbling down the alley.  It's only two days late.  I guess Labor Day really threw them off.  As much as I love long holiday weekends, they do throw things off a little...

And, as for our holiday weekend...we put it to good use visiting family and friends.

My two favorite men in the world just walked in the back door, and I'm headed to the kitchen to take brownies out of the oven.  Yes, I'm having a Betty Crocker moment.  Of course, we finished off the milk at breakfast which means I'm headed to the store sooner that I'd planned.  You can't have brownies fresh out of the oven without milk!

I wanted to share some recent pictures, but they are either on another computer or still on the camera.   *Sigh*  It'll be sometime in mid-November before we get it together around here, and then you know what happens.  The holidays will just mess us up!

So, I'm way behind in blogging....but Audrey's pictures were too cute to leave up for just a couple of days.

It's the first week of school and we're dying here....Joe's class started, my class started (more later on my bat *&^% crazy teacher!), booster club meetings, field practices before the first game on Friday (which is out of town, which means bus chaperone duty for me), early morning football practice for Graham, blah, blah, blah.  I always forget that it takes us a week or two (or three) to get in the swing of things.

We've managed to get school supplies, art supplies, football cleats, cases of water and lunch stuff bought, and although we haven't eaten a meal together as a family since Sunday evening, we are managing to eat at home.  The laundry is fairly caught up and the kitchen is clean, so I'm considering this week a success so far.

I have a Humanities class this semester and my instructor commented this evening in class that (and I'm summing it up here) we can't consider all things made by God because it can't be proven that He did indeed make anything.   *sigh*  I love the study of ancient cultures, the art history and all that, but still.  I feel a long semester coming on...

Hopefully I'm back to being here on a more regular basis.  I've missed checking in!

So, yesterday was my daughter's birthday.  She's 17.  No, I didn't forget it was her birthday.  We were just so busy with work, drill team camp and family stuff that I didn't have time to acknowledge it here until today.

Audrey is just simply the best, ever.  Period.  Yes, we fight like normal moms and daughters do on occasion.  But she is very intelligent, usually sweet and gorgeous.  She's also brave, loyal and strong.

I'm one of her biggest fans.
